The Outside the Box ADHD Coaching Program is one-to-one coaching for adults with ADHD. You work with Carolyn Verhoef, an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), Certified ADHD Productivity Coach (CAPC), and Professional Certified Neurodiversity Coach (PCNC), over 6, 12 or 24 weeks.

Together, you build practical strategies for time, focus, planning and emotional regulation that suit the way your brain works.

When ADHD gets in the way of being productive, plan, organise, manage time, focus and regulate emotions, it can feel like you’re missing a piece of the puzzle. The answer isn’t another calendar, tool or app. It’s a way of working that fits you.

Through ADHD coaching, we can get to the core of these common challenges and design the strategies that work for you long-term:

Is ADHD coaching right for you?

Most of Carolyn’s clients are capable, successful people who know what they want to do and keep getting stuck between the plan and the action. You might recognise some of these:

  • You lose track of time and miss deadlines
  • You struggle to prioritise or get started on a task
  • You have plenty of good ideas but feel overwhelmed when it comes to doing them
  • You forget key details right when you need them
  • You jump from task to task without finishing
  • You focus hard on one thing and let other important work slide
  • You put other people’s needs ahead of your own work and goals

The program suits adults who:

  • Have an ADHD diagnosis, including people diagnosed as adults
  • Suspect they have ADHD and want practical support while they explore it
  • Run a business, lead a team or work in a demanding professional role
  • Want structure and accountability without a one-size-fits-all system

Can I get ADHD coaching funded?

You may be able to. The Australian Government’s JobAccess service runs the Employment Assistance Fund (EAF), which helps eligible people with disability and mental health conditions pay for support they need at work. Eligible clients can put $1,770 of funding towards ADHD coaching.

You may be eligible if you are:

  • Currently working
  • Self-employed
  • About to start a job

Funding covers most of the 12-week program.

Your application needs a report on your workplace barriers. Carolyn charges $165 including GST for the session and the report, and can walk you through the application on your free intro call.

How is ADHD coaching different from therapy?

ADHD Coaching

ADHD coaching helps you understand where you are and supports you in taking action to create change. You and your coach build awareness and work on practical skills, habits, and goals, such as planning, prioritising, starting tasks, managing your energy, and regulating attention and emotions.

Therapy

Therapy with a psychologist or counsellor treats mental health conditions and can explore the “why” by looking more deeply at past experiences to facilitate healing in the present.

Coaching does not diagnose ADHD. Many of Carolyn’s clients also see a psychologist, psychiatrist, or GP, and coaching works well as part of multimodal care.

ADHD Coaching FAQs

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to start coaching?

No. Carolyn works with adults who have a diagnosis and adults who suspect they have ADHD. If you are still exploring a diagnosis, coaching gives you practical support in the meantime.

You can choose 6, 12 or 24 weeks. Twelve weeks is the most popular option and supports your brains process for change. Coincidentally, it is almost the same amount as the JobAccess funding.

Yes. Most sessions run on Zoom, so you can join from anywhere in Australia. In-person sessions are available in Perth, WA.

$1,020 for 6 weeks, $1,780 for 12 weeks or $3,190 for 24 weeks. Monthly payment plans are available.

If you are working, self-employed or about to start a job, you may be eligible for funding through the JobAccess Employment Assistance Fund. Carolyn can explain the process on your intro call.

Coaching builds practical skills and strategies for now and the future. Therapy treats mental health conditions. Many clients do both.

Yes. Carolyn coaches clients in New Zealand and has worked with clients in the US and Canada. Funding options differ outside Australia.

You talk through what’s getting in your way, what you want to change and how coaching works. There’s no pressure to sign up; actually, it’s Carolyn’s policy not to book a program from the first call because she knows about ADHD and impulsivity. You go away with a clear next step, whether it’s to consider coaching with Carolyn or something else entirely.
