What is your definition of productivity? Literally, what’s your interpretation? The answer points to what matters most and what is in the way.
Over six weeks, I immersed myself in an advanced Productivity Coaching course at the Coach Approach Training Institute.
Casey Moore, a thought leader for 25+ years in the field of productivity, a multi-credentialed trainer and coach, expertly guided us to look at productivity through the Productivity Chain® model.
How to Personalise Your Approach to Productivity
- Consider what productivity means for you. Is it getting to the end of your to-do list? Or making progress on the things that have meaning and purpose? Your productivity can significantly impact the quality of your life. So it’s worth reflecting on what it means to you.
- Assess your strengths. Where do you excel? Is it idea generation, quick on-the-spot thinking, being flexible and nimble, pulling in the resources, and getting people on board to collaborate? Or are there many other ways you shine?
- Assess your weaker aspects. What creates a barrier or drains you, impacting your ability to produce? Is it task management, knowing what is on your plate and being able to prioritise accordingly? Or decision-making, knowing what to delegate elsewhere, or any other aspect?
- Understand what you can leverage from your strengths. Develop any knowledge, skills and abilities to support you and your ADHD way of being productive.
- Consider any habits or beliefs that keep you stuck in your current results. We have these unhelpful patterns; I’m not immune to these either. By being coached and reflecting on myself during the coach training, I now see these for what they are to create even more ease and flow in my productivity.
